Your Privacy Matters

At MenHair, we take your privacy seriously. We've built our application with privacy as a core principle. This policy explains how we handle your photos and data.

What We Do NOT Do

  • We do NOT store your photos on our servers
  • We do NOT create user accounts or profiles (during beta)
  • We do NOT share your images with third parties for marketing
  • We do NOT use your photos to train AI models
  • We do NOT sell your personal data

How Your Photos Are Processed

  1. You upload a photo in your browser (processed locally on your device)
  2. The photo is sent via secure connection to Google's Gemini AI API for hairstyle generation
  3. The AI generates your new hairstyle image
  4. The generated image is sent back to your browser
  5. Your original photo and generated image are automatically deleted when you close the browser tab

Third-Party Processing

MenHair uses Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash Image API to generate hairstyle previews. Your photo is sent to Google's servers solely for processing and is not retained by Google after generation is complete. Google's AI processes images according to their own privacy policies.

  • Rate limiting is handled with Upstash Redis to prevent abuse (stores technical request identifiers such as IP address).
  • Payments and license-key delivery are handled by Polar.sh.

Payment Processing

When you purchase additional generations (5 Image Generations or 30 Image Generations), your payment is processed by Polar.sh, a trusted payment provider. We do NOT store your credit card information on our servers.

  • Polar.sh handles all payment processing securely
  • Paid packages currently available: 5 or 30 generations
  • Your email address is collected by Polar to send your license key
  • We receive only your license key status (valid/invalid, usage count)
  • Payment details are subject to Polar.sh's privacy policy

Data We Collect

We collect only data needed to run and improve the product:

  • Uploaded image content (temporarily processed to generate results)
  • Technical request metadata such as IP address for rate limiting and abuse prevention
  • License-key validation metadata (valid/invalid and remaining usage)
  • Optional analytics data (for example page views, device/browser type, and feature interactions) only if you accept analytics cookies

You can change analytics consent at any time via the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, delete, or object to processing of your personal data. We do not keep user accounts, but we can still help with privacy requests related to analytics, rate-limiting logs, and purchase/license metadata.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy as our service evolves. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
